Enjoy a relaxing break discovering the epic beauty, history and folklore of Scotland where Perthshire, Stirlingshire and the Trossachs meet at the gateway to the Highlands. Based at the charming Winnock Hotel near Loch Lomond, this tour features some great excursions including a cruise along the Argyll Coast, a journey through the spectacular Dukes Pass and the Trossachs, a cruise along the tranquil waters of Loch Katrine plus a visit to Inveraray, a pretty white-washed town nestled on the banks of Loch Fyne.

This charming family run hotel takes centre stage on the green in the village of Drymen near Loch Lomond. Sensitively extended and refurbished, it retains its traditional bars and log fires and offers a warm and friendly atmosphere. Facilities include the Merlin restaurant plus a cosy bar and lounge. All bedrooms feature satellite TV, telephone and tea / coffee tray. Please note there is no lift but ground floor rooms are available.

  • Admire the natural scenic beauty of the area on a spectacular Argyll Coast Fjord-land cruise on the Waverley, the last ocean going paddle steamer in the world. Relax on deck as you explore the delightful sheltered waters of Loch Long, Loch Goil and Loch Lomond as you glide along the Clyde and the Argyll Coast with a chance of spotting porpoises or dolphins.

  • Enjoy a scenic journey towards Aberfoyle and then over the spectacular 'Dukes Pass' to Loch Katrine; the inspiration for Sir Walter Scott's poem "The Lady of the Lake". Here we board the historic steamship SS Sir Walter Scott and take in the magnificent landscapes of the Trossachs during a wonderful two hour cruise, then disembark for an included lunch at the Brenachoile Café overlooking the loch. We then travel on to Callander, a colourful town with cosy tearooms and shops, plus the Rob Roy Visitor Centre detailing the daring exploits of Scotland's most notorious outlaw.

  • We travel along the shores of Loch Lomond and through the rugged hills of the Trossachs to Inveraray, one of Scotland’s loveliest towns set in an idyllic location overlooking Loch Fyne. One of its key attractions is the Inveraray Jail; an award-winning museum that graphically recounts prison conditions from medieval times up until the 19th century.
