Crieff & St Andrews

Crieff & St Andrews

A Scottish holiday to the heart of the Perthshire Highlands and the bustling town of Crieff, set amidst magnificent Perthshire scenery.

Enjoy a break to the heart of the stunning Perthshire Highlands and the bustling town of Crieff, set amidst magnificent Perthshire scenery. Crieff has been a holiday resort since Victorian times and is the second largest town in Perthshire, straddling the Highland Boundary fault where the rolling lowland landscape meets majestic Highland terrain. Our holiday hotel is the magnificent crieff Hydro, a beautifully appointed luxury hotel set on a hill above the town enjoying panoramic views of the Ochil Hills and the Strathearn Valley.

The four star Crieff Hydro is now run by the fifth generation of owners who have transformed the old Victorian property into a magnificent restored hotel and spa. Facilities include lounge areas, five restaurants, a swimming pool, spa, solarium and golf course. All bedrooms feature flat screen TV, free Wi-Fi, hairdryer and hospitality tray. Lift available

  • We take a short drive to the Crieff Visitor Centre, a popular attraction on the outskirts of the town. The centre is the home of the world-renowned Caithness Glass and you can enjoy watching the skilled craftsmen at work from the viewing gallery before meandering around the gift shop, garden centre and the antiques and gallery area. In the afternoon we visit the Famous Grouse Experience to discover the art of blending Scotland’s favourite whisky and sample a wee dram or two.

  • We visit the town of St Andrews where Prince William and Kate Middleton met whist studying at the university. Described as one of Europe's finest towns St Andrews has its place in history, a lovely coastal resort that is home to one of the world's most famous golf courses. We visit the course and join a guide on a tour around the 1st, 17th and 18th holes of the Old Course where you will be able to walk in the footsteps of icons of the game. Following the tour enjoy some time at leisure to discover St Andrew’s, a delight to explore with its quaint cobbled streets, impressive medieval ruins, stately university buildings and idyllic white sands.

  • Some magnificent scenery as we travel via Loch Earn and Glen Ogle to Killin and the Falls of Dochart, then along the shores of Loch Tay to Aberfeldy where we stop for lunch. In the afternoon we visit Pitlochry where you can browse around the centre with its unique choice of shops selling Scottish specialities and maybe take a walk to see the Hydro Electric Dam and its famous Salmon Ladder.

  • Grouse Experience tour and tasting
