Each year in springtime the bulb fields of Holland produce an explosion of colour with their magnificent displays, the most famous being the Keukenhof Gardens at Lisse. This 80 acre site boasts an array of colour and is one of the most photographed sites in the world. As well as its bicycles, trams and glass-topped boats Amsterdam has a rich and exciting culture with many famous attractions, narrow tree-lined streets and tiny bridges interlaced by hundreds of canals. Our base for this holiday will be at Scheveningen, Holland’s most famous seaside resort.

The four star Carlton Beach is situated right on the oceanfront at Scheveningen, the seaside resort district of The Hague. Facilities include the Beach-side brasserie and Smugglers bar & grill, plus swimming pool, sauna, steam room and sun terrace. All bedrooms are air-conditioned and feature balcony, sitting area, satellite TV, free Wi-Fi, room safe, hairdryer, iron and board, plus tea & coffee facilities.

Day One: Early departure for our journey south to Folkestone and through the Eurotunnel to Calais, then on through Belgium and into Holland where we spend the next four nights in Scheveningen, the seaside resort district of The Hague.

Day Two: This morning we travel to Lisse for our visit to the spectacular Keukenhof Gardens, known as the “Greatest Flower Show on Earth”. Enjoy walking through the vast array of colours, in a beautiful park intersected by canals & lakes.

Day Three: A full day visit to Amsterdam, one of Europe's cultural treasures with its cobbled streets, delightful gabled houses, those famous canals and thousands of bikes. Famous attractions include the canal cruises, the Van Gogh Museum, the Rijksmuseum, the haunting Anne Frank's House, the Diamond Centres, and the main focal point of the city – the magnificent Dam Square.

Day Four: A day at leisure to explore Scheveningen, take a stroll along the boulevard, see the gigantic pier that stretches into the North Sea and maybe enjoy lunch in one of the many restaurants and café’s around the harbour area. Alternatively you can join us on an optional morning excursion to Delft, one of the prettiest cities in Holland famous for its Delft Blue Pottery. Take a walk around the charming town centre with its lovely historic buildings and perhaps take a boat trip on the canals.

Day Five: We check out and travel back to France for our return Eurotunnel journey to Folkestone, and home to North Wales.
