Experience Scotland at its traditional best with a holiday to the Border Region. The area is a delight to explore with picturesque villages, majestic castles, historic abbeys and grand stately homes. This wonderful tour incorporates visits to the new lanark World Heritage Site, floors castle, Jedburgh and Abottsford House. Also included is a visit to the superb city of Edinburgh with admission to the castle and the Scotch Whisky Experience, plus a scenic rail journey through the beautiful Borders.

We make our way to Floors Castle, the largest inhabited Castle in Scotland housing an impressive collection of fine art, porcelain and newly restored tapestries. We then continue to the pretty town of Jedburgh and visit Mary Queen of Scots House with its fascinating collection of memorabilia, then travel on to Abbotsford House, the home of Sir Walter Scott and one of Scotlands most fascinating places to visit.
Enjoy a visit to the award winning New Lanark Visitor Centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site situated at the gateway to the famous Falls of Clyde. This unique location tells the fascinating story of the cotton mill village of New Lanark founded in the 18th century. Well have some free time to explore the many attractions and exhibition areas of the Visitor Centre. After lunch we return to Peebles where you can discover its picturesque architecture and quaint alleyways, then return to our hotel with free time to relax and maybe take advantage of the leisure facilities.
We travel to the vibrant city of Edinburgh for a visit to its iconic castle. Perched atop an extinct volcano, the majestic castle guards many of the nations treasures including the Scottish Crown Jewels. Some free time here to explore, then we take a short stroll onto the Royal Mile to visit The Scotch Whisky Experience for a guided tour, and, of course, a wee dram! Following this some time at leisure for lunch and to further explore Edinburgh, then we head to Waverley station and commence a scenic journey on the recently launched Borders Railway to Tweedbank.
