Enjoy a relaxing weekend break to the attractive Victorian spa town of Harrogate, renowned for its floral displays, antique shops and Turkish baths, and visit the city of Sheffield, which has undergone a transformation in recent years.

A great value overnight break which features a visit to the Victorian spa town of Harrogate, renowned for its floral displays, fine art and antiques plus the famous tea-shops. We also include a scenic drive through the picturesque Peak District plus a visit to Sheffield with its proud industrial heritage.

ITINERARY

Day One: We travel to Sheffield via the fine scenery of the Peak District, admire the spectacular views as we journey over the Snake Pass towards the Ladybower Reservoir, famously used by the Lancaster bomber pilots to prepare for their Dambuster Raids. On arrival in Sheffield, perhaps visit the Millennium Art Galleries or discover the city’s industrial heritage at the Kelham Island Museum. The impressive Winter Gardens is the largest urban glass house in Europe, housing over 2000 species of plants.

 

Day Two: Following breakfast we visit Harrogate with its beautiful floral displays, atmospheric cafés and green open spaces. The stylish Montpellier Quarter features an array of exclusive shops plus the 'Antiques and Art Centre of the North'. You might like to visit the Royal Pump Room Museum for a fascinating insight into Harrogate’s spa history, stroll

through the Valley Gardens or watch the world go by in Betty's Tea Rooms. We depart mid-afternoon and commence our homeward journey.
