A new Irish holiday that will explore some of the delights of County Sligo and County Mayo, based in the seaside town of Enniscrone on the northwest coast. One of Ireland’s most popular seaside resorts, its 5km stretch of beach is surrounded by dunes with a magnificent vista in all directions. This tour offers a varied itinerary that includes grand stately homes, Irish culture & history and the breath-taking scenery of the Wild Atlantic Way.

The Ocean Sands Hotel is a modern, family owned and run hotel located along the beach front in Enniscrone with superb views of Kilala Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. Facilities include the Dunes Restaurant and the Onyx Bistro & Bar. All bedrooms are equipped with satellite TV, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. Lift available.

Day One: We travel to Holyhead for our Irish Sea crossing to Dublin, then continue on via Mullingar and Longford to Enniscrone and the Ocean Sands Hotel.

Day Two: A morning visit to Westport where we have an entertaining guided tour of the town, harbour and the Westport House Estate on board the tourist train. We then have a guided tour of the house itself, one of the jewels in the crown of Ireland’s historical family homes. From here we travel on to Castlebar to visit the National Museum of Ireland where you can discover the history of Irish life from 1850 to 1950.

Day Three: Today we travel to Sligo where we have the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of William Butler Yeats, widely considered to be one of the greatest poets of the 20th century. Explore the many attractions, including the Sligo County Museum & Art Gallery, Yeats Society Memorial Building and Sligo Abbey.

Day Four: We discover the magic of County Mayo with a scenic drive to the islands of the Wild Atlantic Way. We travel along the shores of Lough Conn and Lough Cullin, then on via Newport, Mulranny and the bridge across to Achill Island, regarded as one of Ireland's most spectacular and beautiful places.
