The delightful resort of Diano Marina lies on a magnificent stretch of coastline in the Liguria Region of Italy, one of the country’s' smallest but most charming regions set along the north-west coast between the French Riviera and Tuscany. Famous for its exclusive resorts sub-tropical scenery and exotic plants this region is also known as the ‘Riviera of Flowers’. Diano Marina is one of the most popular resorts on the Riviera set in a wide sweeping bay with fine sandy beaches backed by majestic mountains, an elegant palm-lined promenade and a lovely old town to explore full of charm and character.

 

GRAND HOTEL DIANA MAJESTIC (4 STAR)

The Grand is nicely situated in a panoramic location on the seafront, set amongst a lovely park with ancient olive, palm and lemon trees. Facilities include the hotel’s own private beach, outdoor pool, heated whirlpool, plus three restaurants, lounge bar and a wine and cigar terrace. All bedrooms feature Carrara marble bathroom, air conditioning, satellite TV, Wi-Fi, minibar and room safe. Lift available.

 

ITINERARY

Day One: Early departure for our journey south to Dover and a Channel ferry crossing to Calais, then on to Lille in northern France for an overnight stay.

 

Day Two: We continue south along the French auto-routes to Dijon in the Burgundy Region of France for our second overnight stay.

 

Day Three: Enjoy some magnificent alpine scenery today as we head for Chambery and the Frejus Tunnel which will take us into Italy. We then head south passing the city of Turin and on to the Italian Riviera and the Hotel Diana Majestic where we stay for the next five nights.

 

Day Four: A day at leisure to relax and explore Diano Marina.

 

Day Five: We travel into France for a visit to world famous Monaco and Monte Carlo, described as one of the most beautiful places in the world and one of the world's most famous playgrounds, synonymous with luxury and sophistication, a tiny principality perched on top of a cliff with the opulence of Monte Carlo spread below. Explore the tiny cobbled streets of Monaco, visit the late Prince Rainier’s Palace where a Changing of the Guard Ceremony takes place daily, admire the magnificent yachts in the harbour or maybe try your luck in the casino. Don’t forget to look out for the starting grid of the famous Monaco Grand Prix!

 

Day Six: We take a drive along the coastline for a morning visit to the delightful resort of Alassio with its colourful beach umbrellas, long promenade and the historic old town with its elegant designer boutiques. In the afternoon we visit the old medieval hilltop town of Cervo, regarded for years as one of “The Most Beautiful Villages of Italy” that preserves its authentic characteristics of a medieval seaside village and where olive oil is still prepared using ancient cold pressing techniques. Take a stroll through the winding narrow streets and enjoy the spectacular views around the coast.

 

Day Seven: A further day at leisure in Diano Marina or join us for an optional excursion which will take us via the city and port of Genoa to the fashionable resort of Santa Margherita with its lovely marina, palms and villas. From here you can take a ferry boat to the small but world famous idyllic port and village of Portofino, another exclusive haunt for the rich & famous, one of the most picturesque and secluded spots in Italy with delightful pastel houses lining the harbour.

 

Day Eight: We leave Diano Marina this morning and head back north through the Alps into France for another overnight stay at Dijon.

 

Day Nine: We continue north to Calais for an afternoon Channel crossing to Dover and on home to North Wales.

  • Three nights accommodation with breakfast at overnight hotels.
