Join us on this new holiday which explores the countrys elegant waterside capital city of Lisbon, the historic walled village of Obidos, and enchanting Sintra, widely considered one of the most beautiful towns in the country. Our base for this wonderful continental escape is the attractive resort of Cascais on the alluring Silver Coast, home to golden bays, small museums, peaceful gardens, an impressive marina plus a pedestrianised old town dotted with designer boutiques and al fresco bars and restaurants.

We journey south to Portsmouth for an overnight ferry crossing to Santander in Northern Spain.
We arrive in Santander late afternoon then disembark and travel through the stunning Cantabrian scenery to our overnight hotel in Palencia.D
Following breakfast we continue our scenic journey through Spain, then cross the border into Portugal and arrive at the coastal resort of Cascais in time for dinner. This evening you might like to relax in the hotel bar or enjoy a gentle stroll through this delightful town.
We spend a day in the stunning city of Lisbon and explore its array of famous sights on a guided tour. Set on seven hills on the banks of the River Tagus, Lisbon has been the capital of Portugal since the 13th century and is renowned for its majestic architecture, yellow trams, Moorish features and the delicious local custard tarts known as ‘Pastel de Nata’. This elegant, energetic city is a fascinating and inspiring place with an alluring combination of ancient and contemporary sections combining wide boulevards and great shopping areas with culture and sightseeing in the picturesque Old Town, nestled on the city’s terraced hillside.B, D
We have another guided excursion today which commences with a visit to picturesque Óbidos, a peaceful, medieval town with a jumble of cobblestone alleyways, whitewashed churches and colourful houses all embraced within the protective walls of a 12th century castle. In the afternoon we continue to the enchanting town of Sintra, nestled atop the pine clad Sintra Mountains with a variety of fascinating historic buildings and enthralling attractions. Designated an UNESCO World Heritage site, the whole town is an architectural jewel with extravagant palaces, opulent mansions and the ruins of an ancient castle.B, D
Today is at leisure to unwind in Cascais. Once a sleepy fishing village, the town is a haven of beautiful beaches, winding cobbled lanes, museums, boutiques, chic bars and alfresco restaurantsB, D
Further free time in Cascais; maybe take in the beauty of the bay with a relaxed day on one of the golden sandy beaches, take a boat trip around the coast or perhaps spend a couple of hours in nearby Estoril.
We depart Cascais this morning and travel to our overnight hotel in historic Salamanca.
This morning we enjoy a guided walking tour of Salamanca, an UNESCO World Heritage site and one of Spain’s most beautiful cities with elegant architecture and fascinating history. We travel to Santander early afternoon to catch our return ferry.B
We arrive into Plymouth during the late afternoon, upon arrival we disembark and continue on home to North Wales.B
