Southport (4 Days)

Southport (4 Days)

The charming Victorian resort of Southport is renowned for its beautiful coastline, lovely parks and gardens, plus miles of golden sands and Britain's second longest pier.

Boasting an expansive coastline and surrounded by natural beauty, the elegant seaside town of Southport is a wonderful alternative to the big cities with its attractive parks and gardens and miles of golden sands. The majestic Grade II listed pier, first opened in 1860, is one of the oldest in the country, and at a length of 3,650 ft is the second longest in Britain. Completely refurbished, this fabulous pier features a purpose-built tram which travels to the seaward end where you can grab a cup of tea in the pier pavilion and soak up the views. Tree-lined Lord Street with its Victorian Arcades is one of the country’s finest shopping boulevards, flanked by shops on one side and gardens and fountains on the other, which form the heart of this unspoiled, traditional seaside town.
