Day One
We leave North Wales in the morning and begin our journey Northwards. Once checked into the hotel the remainder of the day is at your leisure
DDay Two
This morning we have a captivating visit to the majestic Bamburgh Castle, perched regally upon its basalt throne, commanding breathtaking views of the Farne Islands and Lindisfarne to the north. Explore the staterooms adorned with exquisite porcelain, fine china, opulent furniture, and priceless artworks. In the afternoon, set sail on a nature and wildlife cruise around the Farne Islands. Witness the thriving colony of Atlantic Grey Seals and marvel at the myriad of seabirds that call the Farne Islands home during the nesting season, including the endearing Puffins.
B, DDay Three
Today we journey through history as we are joined by a knowledgeable local guide as we uncover the tales of Hadrian's Wall and its surroundings. Key highlights await, such as Heddon on the Wall, where you'll encounter the remarkably preserved 'Broad Wall' stretching for hundreds of yards. Explore Chesters Roman Fort, the finest-preserved Cavalry Fort on the Wall, immersing yourself in the military legacy of this region. Additionally, we'll visit the charming market towns of Hexham and Corbridge, each steeped in their own rich histories.
B, DDay Four
Spend the day discovering the captivating city of Durham. We begin with a guided tour of Durham Cathedral, a magnificent architectural masterpiece perched dramatically on a rocky promontory overlooking the medieval city. After visiting the Cathedral, we then continue the walking tour, winding through Durham's enchanting medieval streets. Here, you'll delve into the city's rich tapestry of history and culture, gaining insight into the centuries-old heritage that has shaped this remarkable destination.
