Christmas at Chatsworth House & Gardens
Experience the enchantment of Christmas at Chatsworth House, one of Britain's most cherished historic estates, nestled along the River Derwent in the breathtaking Peak District National Park. Each winter, Chatsworth is transformed into a winter wonderland, with the House and Gardens adorned with festive décor and interactive light displays.
Our journey begins as we step inside the grand house, exploring the lower floors adorned with garlands, twinkling lights, and candles, all complemented by the delightful fragrance of decorated Christmas trees. We then explore one of the UK’s largest Christmas Markets, featuring over 100 stalls offering traditional handmade crafts, gifts, jewellery, decorations, and delectable treats. As dusk falls, we experience the magnificent ‘Christmas in the Garden’ light trail, set within the 105-acre Chatsworth grounds. The interactive light and sound trail meanders through the garden, highlighting its beloved landmarks, including the historic Cascade, Rock Garden, and Maze.
But the festive adventure doesn’t end there. We further immerse ourselves in the holiday spirit with a visit to Manchester’s award-winning Christmas Markets. Enjoy a warming hot chocolate or mulled wine as you wander through the heart of the vibrant city centre, exploring over 300 beautifully adorned stalls and chalets.

Day One
We travel to Chatsworth House where the spirit of Christmas comes alive as the grand rooms are magically transformed for the festive season. Explore the state rooms on the lower floor, where you'll be immersed in the sights, sounds, and scents of the holidays, and wander under archways adorned with candy canes and handmade Christmas stockings. During our visit, the popular Christmas Market will be in full swing, featuring over 100 stalls brimming with a wide range of Christmas gifts and decorations.
As dusk falls, we'll experience the enchantment of the festive season at 'Christmas in the Garden,' an interactive light and sound trail throughout the Chatsworth Garden. Highlights include beloved landmarks such as the historic Cascade, Rock Garden, and Maze.
After a magical day, we will depart Chatsworth House this evening and travel to the Hampton by Hilton Sheffield for our overnight stay.
Day Two
Following breakfast we check out of the hotel and head to Manchester to browse for delicately crafted Yuletide gifts and sample the mouth-watering international food and drinks at the renowned Christmas Markets. The city also boasts a diverse range of fascinating museums and galleries to explore. We return North Wales late afternoon.
