Day One
Our journey leads us north through the captivating Border Region, revelling stunning scenery as we make our way into the majestic Scottish Highlands. Our destination is the beautiful Palace Hotel in Inverness, the capital of the Highlands, where we will enjoy four nights of luxurious comfort.
DDay Two
After breakfast, enjoy a leisurely morning exploring Inverness at your own pace. Stroll through the charming streets and along the riverbanks, discovering the city's museums, galleries and excellent shops. This afternoon, we return to the hotel for lunch before departing for nearby Clansman Harbour, where we board our Jacobite cruiser for a round trip on the legendary Loch Ness. Sit back, relax and take in the stunning scenery as onboard commentary shares fascinating facts and enduring legends about Loch Ness and its surroundings. After our cruise, we return to Inverness and the Palace Hotel to indulge in a delightful Afternoon Tea.
B, L, DDay Three
This morning, we visit the evocative Culloden Battlefield and Visitor Centre, the site of the final battle of the Jacobite Rising in 1746. The award-winning exhibition brings this pivotal moment in Scottish history to life through fascinating artefacts, interactive displays and an immersive film experience. Outside, the preserved battlefield stands as a moving tribute to the fallen clansmen. After returning to the hotel for lunch, we continue to Brodie Castle in the afternoon, the ancestral home of the Brodie family for more than 400 years. Surrounded by picturesque parkland, the castle boasts exquisite antique furnishings, remarkable art collections and charming gardens.
B, L, DDay Four
This morning we board one of the most scenic rail journeys in the British Isles, travelling from Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh. The route traces the shores of the Beauly Firth before turning north toward Dingwall. After a steady climb to Black Rock, the line descends through picturesque wooded hillsides to the tranquil waters of Loch Garve. The final stretch is perhaps the most dramatic, offering breathtaking views as we approach Kyle of Lochalsh. Following a short stop here, we rejoin our coach for the return journey to Inverness.
B, L, DDay Five
This morning after breakfast we check out from the Palace hotel and begin our journey home to North Wales
