Day One

Our outward journey to Cardiff takes us via Hereford, Ross on Wye, Monmouth and Newport, arriving in Cardiff mid-afternoon for check in to the Holiday Inn Hotel.

Day Two

Today commences with a boat ride from tranquil Bute Park to Cardiff Bay. Travelling by boat provides a great way to see Cardiff from a different perspective, and an interesting commentary is provided during the journey giving information about the sights you will see along the river and some of the native wildlife. Upon arrival we’ll visit The Senedd, the home of the National Assembly for Wales, for a guided tour of this unique building. Free time follows to explore Cardiff Bay and enjoy some lunch in one of the many waterside bars and restaurants. In the afternoon we’ll go behind the scenes on a tour of the iconic Wales Millennium Centre to discover more about this remarkable building, and see the dressing rooms, the technical areas of the grand Donald Gordon Theatre, rehearsal rooms and more.

Day Three

Following breakfast we board the coach along with our guide for the day and journey into one of the most famous valleys in Wales, the Rhondda - home of Welsh coal and the birthplace of legendary Tom Jones. We’ll make our way into the valley and call at the Brecon Beacons National Park Visitor Centre for some refreshments. We then continue through the epic scenery of the Bwlch Mountain Road and the Afan Valley to Swansea, a city steeped in maritime history. Here there will be time at leisure for lunch and to discover some of the city’s attractions such as the National Waterfront Museum, the Dylan Thomas Centre, the Glynn Vivian Art Gallery and the Swansea Indoor Market. We return to Cardiff through the Vale of Glamorgan with its rolling hills and pretty market towns.

Day Four
