Embark on an enchanting Christmas journey in the North East of England! Discover the festive charm of the Newcastle and York Christmas Markets, where you can find unique treasures amidst the historic cityscapes. Be captivated by the mesmerising lights of Alnwick Gardens, meandering through their magical Christmas Lights Trail, creating lasting memories in a festive wonderland. We will also experience traditional yuletide magic at Beamish Museum, spanning the 1820s, 1900s, and 1940s.

The Hilton is situated in an outstanding riverside location with fantastic views of the Tyne and Quayside. Facilities include the Windows on the Tyne restaurant & bar, plus swimming pool, whirlpool, sauna and gym. Day One

Once you have boarded our luxury coach at your selected pick-up point, we travel north to Newcastle. We arrive at the Hilton Newcastle Gateshead Hotel during the afternoon where the remainder of the day will be at leisure to explore the city sights and the fabulous International Christmas Market, which injects a blaze of colour, festive aromas and seasonal sounds into the city centre.

Day Two

This morning we visit the famous Beamish Open Air Museum that features costumed characters that actively relive everyday life. See the towns and pit village take on a festive feel with period decorations, discover the sights, sounds and tastes of traditional festivities in the 1820s, 1900s and 1940s. This afternoon we head to the city of Durham, a historic city known for its stunning architecture, including the iconic Durham Cathedral and Castle. Durham is beautifully decorated with Christmas lights and decorations throughout the city. The streets, shops, and restaurants contribute to a wonderful festive atmosphere.

Day Three

We head to the charming town of Alnwick where there will be some free time to explore this beautiful market town before making our way to Alnwick Gardens this afternoon. Discover acres of fascinating plants, water sculptures and the world's largest wooden tree house! As the dark falls the light display will be switched on where you will be able to immerse yourself in a glittering carnival of light and sound.

Day Four

After breakfast we check out of the hotel and travel to York for one of their most popular evens of the year, the St Nicholas Fayre. Bursting with medieval character, the city really comes to life at this time of year with unique stalls selling all types of festive decorations, gifts and locally produced food and drinks. Stroll around the old cobbled streets with their half timbered houses, marvel at the Gothic York Minster and perhaps explore the excellent museums. We depart late afternoon to commence our homeward journey.
