The Hilton Dunblane Hydro is a historic and luxurious hotel set amidst picturesque surroundings on the outskirts of Dunblane. All bedrooms are equipped with telephone, radio, Wi-Fi, hair dryer, iron / ironing board, safe and tea / coffee making facilities. Day One
We travel north through the Scottish Borders and on to Balloch, situated on the shores of Loch Lomond where we board a lake cruiser for a circular cruise of Loch Lomond's South basin where you will enjoy views of the magnificent Ben Lomond and pass a number of Loch Lomond's stately homes and castles that are dotted along the shoreline. Following our cruise we continue to Dunblane where we check in to the Dunblane Hydro Hotel.
DDay Two
This morning we soak up 1000 years of history at Glamis, the finest castle in Scotland. Glamis Castle was the childhood home of the Queen Mother, birthplace of Princess Margaret and the setting for Shakespeare's Macbeth. During our visit you will experience a sense of splendour as we explore the opulent rooms and the extensive gardens and pathways. This afternoon we have a guided tour and tasting session at the Glenturret Distillery, Scotland's oldest working distillery.
B, DDay Three
We travel to Falkirk, where you'll experience a boat trip like no other with a journey on the extraordinary Falkirk Wheel, a unique rotating boat lift that connects the Union Canal with the Forth and Clyde Canal. We then continue to South Queensferry, where we'll embark on a Three Bridge Cruise with Forth Boat Tours. While on board, you can relax and enjoy a buffet lunch while taking in breathtaking views of the three iconic Forth Bridges, the stunning panorama of the Edinburgh skyline and the enchanting Incholm Island with its medieval abbey. After our cruise, we head back to Dunblane, making a stop on the way to marvel at the Kelpies, two extraordinary horse head sculptures that stand an impressive 30 meters tall.
B, DDay Four
We check out this morning and commence our journey home to North Wales.
