Discover the breathtaking beauty of West Cork, a land of rugged coastlines, rolling mountains, tranquil lakes and colourful villages, set against the magnificent backdrop of the Wild Atlantic. Highlights include a visit to the elegant Bantry House & Gardens, with its historic interiors, beautiful gardens and spectacular views across Bantry Bay. We also visit the dramatic Mizen Peninsula, Ireland’s most south-westerly point. Here, the spectacular Mizen Head offers breathtaking views across the Atlantic, with its famous arched bridge spanning the deep gorge to the rocky headland, surrounded by dramatic cliffs, sea stacks and crashing waves. In Killarney, we enjoy a traditional jaunting car ride through the picturesque scenery of the National Park to the magnificent Muckross House, a beautifully preserved 19th-century mansion surrounded by gardens and stunning mountain scenery.

 

MARITIME HOTEL

The four star Maritime hotel is nicely located in the centre of Bantry overlooking picturesque Bantry Bay. Facilities include the Ocean Restaurant and Maritime Bar where live entertainment is featured, plus a swimming pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and gymnasium. All bedrooms feature satellite TV, free Wi-Fi, iron and board, hairdryer, room safe and tea / coffee making facilities. Lift to all floors.

Day One

We travel to Holyhead for our Irish Sea crossing to Dublin, then continue via Portlaoise and Cahir into County Cork and on to Bantry Bay where we commence our stay at the Maritime Hotel.

Day Two

Today we visit Bantry House and Gardens, the ancestral home of the Earls of Bantry and one of Ireland's most beautiful Great Houses. The house is filled with treasures collected from around the world, offering a fascinating glimpse into its rich history and heritage. The remainder of the day is at leisure, giving you the opportunity to explore Bantry at your own pace.

Day Three

This morning we visit Mizen Head, Ireland's most south-westerly point, renowned for its dramatic cliffs and breathtaking coastal scenery. We will explore the Visitor Centre and have the opportunity to cross the magnificent arched suspension bridge, which spans the sea below and leads to the historic Signal Station, built to help safeguard ships navigating the treacherous coastline. This afternoon, we travel via the picturesque village of Schull to the charming town of Skibbereen. Here you will have some leisurely free time to enjoy lunch and explore the town at your own pace before we return to our hotel.

Day Four

Today we visit Killarney, one of Ireland's most popular and picturesque tourist destinations, with its charming streets lined with interesting shops, cafés, restaurants and traditional Irish pubs. We experience a traditional Irish jaunting car ride through the beautiful surroundings of Killarney National Park, travelling to Muckross House, a magnificent Victorian mansion set amid some of Ireland's most spectacular scenery. Following our visit, we return to Killarney town centre, where you will have time to explore at your leisure.

Day Five

We travel back to the ferry port at Dublin for our return sailing to Holyhead and home to North Wales.
