The world famous Tower, was built back in 1879 modelled on the Eiffel Tower in Paris, it is 158m high and has an extensive entertainment complex at its base including the famous Tower Ballroom. There are three piers and miles of golden sands for taking a walk and enjoying the sea air. Other attractions to explore include the Sea-life Centre and Madame Tussauds waxworks.
The Imperial is a grand 19th Century hotel recalling the opulence and glamour of this famous resorts Victorian heyday, with all the comforts of modern life. Day One
We travel north to Lancashire and the popular seaside town of Southport where we have some free time to have lunch and explore the resort. Maybe take a relaxing stroll by Marine Lake and along the promenade or take the tram to the end of the pier. Charming Lord Street, with its glass-canopied shops and the Wayfarer's Arcade, is home to a superb range of specialist shops. We leave Southport in the late afternoon and travel on to Blackpool to the Imperial Hotel where we stay for 3 nights.
DDay Two
We journey to the stunning Lake District National Park, where we embark on a delightful adventure aboard the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway. Experience the charm of a steam train ride from Haverthwaite to Lakeside making sure to take in the picturesque landscapes along the way. Upon reaching Lakeside, we set sail on a serene cruise along Lake Windermere, the park's largest and most renowned lake. Marvel at the magnificent views of the mountain scenery, secluded bays and wooded islands as we make our way towards Bowness on Windermere. Upon arrival, we'll have leisure time to enjoy the wonderful setting and perhaps indulge in a delightful lunch at one of the quaint cafes dotting the area. Our journey continues to the nearby town of Ambleside, a quintessential Lakeside destination boasting an array of charming shops and cafes. Don't forget to pause and admire the iconic Bridge House, dating back to the 17th century.
B, DDay Three
Today we depart the Imperial hotel and begin our journey to Bury market where there will be free time at leisure to explore Bury's world-famous market with its fantastic range of products and facilities. We depart Bury and return to our hotel where a cream tea awaits. Following our cream tea the remainder of the afternoon will be at leisure to commence exploring Blackpool's attractions, some of which include Madame Tussauds and the amazing wax figure look-alikes, the famous Blackpool Tower and Ballroom, Stanley Park, the Sea Life Centre, and the resorts three piers.
B, DDay Four
This morning we will enjoy some further free time before we depart Blackpool this afternoon and commence our onward journey home.
