Day One
We travel north through the Border Region to Edinburgh and check in to the Courtyard by Marriott Edinburgh Hotel where we stay for the next three nights. This afternoon you can begin discovering the city centre before enjoying a meal in one of the city restaurants and sampling some of Edinburgh's nightlife.
Day Two
This morning we are joined by a local guide for a short tour through the heart of Edinburgh, leading up to the city's most iconic landmark, Edinburgh Castle, where entrance is included. Here, you will have time to explore the castle's rich history, dramatic architecture and panoramic views over the city. Afterwards, we visit the award-winning Scotch Whisky Experience, located at the top of Edinburgh's Royal Mile, just a short walk from the castle. Enjoy an engaging tour that reveals the traditions and craftsmanship behind Scotland's national drink, followed by a tasting to savour its unique flavours.
BDay Three
This morning we travel to South Queensferry, where we embark on a scenic cruise along the Firth of Forth. As we sail beneath the iconic Forth Bridge, the Forth Road Bridge and the Queensferry Crossing, you will be treated to spectacular views of these UNESCO World Heritage structures. Keep an eye out for local wildlife, including seals and seabirds, as we glide through the waters. The onboard commentary provides fascinating insights into the history and engineering of the bridges and the surrounding area. Following our cruise we return to Edinburgh, leaving the rest of the day at leisure to explore the city at leisure.
BDay Four
Enjoy a further morning at leisure in Edinburgh before we depart in the early afternoon and commence our homeward journey.
