Day One
Early morning departure for a journey south to Dover, where we board a ferry to cross the channel to Dunkirk. Upon arrival, we continue our journey to Belgium, arriving at the delightful city of Brugge early evening.
Day Two
We begin the day with a relaxing canal cruise through the heart of Brugge, gliding past elegant gabled houses, historic bridges and charming waterways that showcase the city's timeless beauty. The remainder of the day is yours to explore at leisure. Wander the cobbled streets, admire centuries-old churches and picturesque market squares, watch horse-drawn carriages pass by and browse artisan chocolate shops and traditional lace boutiques that make Brugge so enchanting.
BDay Three
Today we cross into the Netherlands to visit the delightful town of Sluis. Enjoy free time to explore its lively market square, browse attractive shopping streets and relax at one of its welcoming cafés or terraces. We then continue to the peaceful town of Damme, with its historic buildings and tranquil atmosphere. Later, we board a scenic canal cruise along the centuries-old waterway through the Flemish countryside, enjoying a relaxing journey back to the beautiful city of Brugge.
BDay Four
Today we travel the captivating city of Ghent, often hailed as Belgium's "Flower Capital." We begin with an enthralling tour along the waterways of the medieval centre with its array of monuments along the river Leie and the Lieve canal until the Rabot towers. Following our cruise, the remainder of the day will be at leisure to further explore Ghent. Along the picturesque Graslei and Korenlei quays, beautifully preserved guild houses line the waterfront, their ornate façades showcasing a rich tapestry of architectural styles that reflect centuries of wealth and commerce. Dominating the skyline is the imposing Castle of the Counts, a moated fortress dating back to 1180 that offers a vivid glimpse into Ghent's dramatic medieval history. No visit is complete without stepping inside St. Bavo's Cathedral, a magnificent blend of Romanesque and Gothic architecture, where a vast crypt, soaring tower, richly adorned interior and world-renowned masterpieces combine to create one of Belgium's most remarkable cultural treasures.
BDay Five
This morning we check out from our hotel and bid farewell to Brugge as we make our way to Dunkirk for our return ferry crossing to Dover. After disembarking the ferry, we continue our journey home to North Wales.
