Our destination is the illustrious Palace Hotel in Inverness, the capital of the Highlands, where we'll be indulging in its lavish comforts for the next four nights.
DDay Two
Following breakfast, the morning will be at leisure to explore Inverness and wander through its streets and along its riverbanks to discover many museums, galleries and great shopping. This afternoon, we enjoy lunch at the hotel before we depart and make our way to nearby Clansman Harbour, where we board our Jacobite cruiser for a round trip along Loch Ness. Once onboard, sit back and relax whilst taking in the scenery accompanied by onboard audio commentary, where you will hear about lots of different facts and legends of Loch Ness and the surrounding area. Following our cruise we return to Inverness and the Palace Hotel where we will indulge in an Afternoon Tea.
B, L, DDay Three
Enjoy a morning at leisure to further explore Inverness, or why not take advantage and unwind at the leisure club and spa at our hotel. After enjoying another lunch at the hotel, we depart this afternoon and travel to the Victorian spa town of Strathpeffer, surrounded by woody hills and picturesque landscapes. Visit the Pump Room, the Spa Pavilion and perhaps visit the old railway station which houses the Highland Museum of Childhood. We depart Strathpeffer late afternoon and return to Inverness.
B, L, DDay Four
This morning we take our seats onboard one of the most scenic rail journeys in the British Isles, travelling between Inverness and Kyle of Lochalsh. The line hugs the shores of the Beauly Firth before heading north to Dingwall. After a steep climb to Black Rock the line descends through beautiful wooded hillsides until it reaches the shore of Loch Garve. We journey our way through the final section, which is perhaps the most dramatic, before reaching Kyle of Lochalsh. After a brief stop here we board our coach and return to Inverness.
