Step back in time with a visit to Clovelly, a beautifully preserved fishing village clinging to the cliffs of North Devon. Famous for its cobbled streets, 16th-century whitewashed cottages and tiny harbour, Clovelly offers a glimpse into a bygone era. In contrast, we travel to the lively market town of Bideford with its vibrant atmosphere and bustling shopping centre, thriving Pannier Market and harbour.
Discover the twin resorts of Lynton and Lynmouth, perched on the northern edge of Exmoor National Park and connected by a unique cliff railway. These neighbouring villages combine dramatic natural beauty with timeless charm. Other highlights include a visit to the elegant seaside town of Ilfracombe, often described as the jewel of the North Devon coast with its historic harbour, striking coastal scenery and grand Victorian architecture, plus we visit the Valley of Rocks, a fascinating U-shaped dry valley well known for its unusual rock formations and caves.

Day One
We travel south to Devon and the Park Hotel in the town of Barnstaple where we stay for the next four nights
Day Two
Travel to Bideford, a picturesque port town nestled along the River Torridge. Stroll through its historic centre, where unique independent shops and charming cafés line the streets. Don't miss the chance to explore the Victorian Pannier Market, home to a wide range of stalls offering locally sourced fresh fish, handmade crafts and delightful gifts. Later, we continue to the traffic-free village of Clovelly, dramatically set on a 400-foot cliff. We begin at the Visitor Centre with an introductory film about the village's fascinating history, then we explore the quaint shops and craft centre before making our way down the steep, cobbled street, flanked by flower-filled cottages and winding alleyways, leading to the ancient fishing harbour. Along the way, visit the Kingsley Museum and the Fisherman's Cottage for a deeper glimpse into village life. (Please note if you do not wish to walk back up to the street a Land Rover service is available)
B, DDay Three
We begin with a visit to Ilfracombe, often called the jewel of the North Devon coast, known for its historic harbour, Victorian villas and lively seaside charm. Next, we explore the picturesque towns of Lynton and Lynmouth, where we enjoy a ride on the water-powered lift that travels between the two historic towns, ascending from Lynmouth at the foot of the cliffs to Lynton perched some 500 feet above. We then travel just west of Lynton to the dramatic Valley of Rocks, a unique U-shaped dry valley parallel to the sea. Known for its wild, cliff-climbing goats and spectacular rock formations, the valley offers fascinating geological history and unforgettable coastal views.
B, DDay Four
Enjoy a relaxing day at leisure in Barnstaple, with time to explore at your own pace. Alternatively, you may wish to join our optional excursion to RHS Garden Rosemoor, a captivating 65-acre haven set in a sheltered valley between Dartmoor and Exmoor National Parks. This beautifully designed garden offers something for everyone, from the magnificent Rose Garden, the largest in the South West, to the tranquil Lady Anne's Garden and the award-winning Cool Garden. You will be presented with a cream tea voucher, which you can enjoy at your leisure either before or after exploring the gardens.
B, DDay Five
After breakfast we check-out and start our journey home.
