A magical festive break visiting two of the most enchanting Christmas markets in Europe.
Indulge in the magical ambiance of two of Europe's most captivating Christmas markets. Lille, renowned as a festive haven, comes alive with a vibrant Christmas Market. Wander through the enchanting wooden stalls adorning Place Rihour, where dazzling decorations and vibrant lights turn the square into a joyous Yuletide spectacle.
Meanwhile, Brugge, celebrated globally for its picturesque canals and stunning medieval architecture, becomes an even more extraordinary destination during the Christmas season. Immerse yourself in the festive spirit as the city transforms into a winter wonderland, offering a unique blend of historical charm and holiday enchantment.
Housed in a 19th-century building and situated in a central location just a short walk from La Grande Place, the Mercure Lille Centre Grand Place is in an excelling position and has been tastefully decorated in modern tones. The hotel features Le Royal bar and lounge area where you can relax and enjoy a drink. All bedrooms are air-conditioned and feature satellite TV, free Wi-Fi, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. Lift to all floors.

Day One
We depart in the early hours for our journey south to Folkestone and our Eurotunnel crossing to Calais, we then continue to the city of Lille and the Mercure Lille Centre Grand Place Hotel where we stay for three nights. Time then to enjoy dinner in one of the many restaurants and bistros, then maybe sample the city nightlife.
Day Two
A day at leisure to enjoy the great festive atmosphere. At Place Rihour an array of Christmas Market stalls are waiting to be explored with the aroma of cinnamon and roasted chestnuts in the air. Wander around the cobbled streets and savor the oldworld charm of the Historic Quarter with its boutiques and antique shops and perhaps take a ride on the giant Ferris wheel for some magnificent views of the city.
BDay Three
Today we enjoy a visit to the delightful medieval city of Brugge and its Christmas Market. Browse around the stalls and seek out the best bargains, a great chance to get those unique stocking fillers and lovely Belgian chocolates. Enjoy all the festivities in amongst the magnificent architecture of the city's timber buildings accentuated by twinkling lights galore and see The famous Belfry, one of the city's most prominent symbols, towering above the bustling Christmas markets below. Perhaps take a stroll through the picturesque narrow cobbled streets and maybe a cruise on the canals or a horse drawn carriage ride through the city.
BDay Four
We return to Calais for our return Eurotunnel journey to Folkestone and on home to North Wales.
