The afternoon brings a highlight for railway enthusiasts and casual travellers alike — a scenic journey on the Llangollen Railway. Board the train at Llangollen and enjoy the views as you travel through the beautiful Dee Valley to Corwen. From there, we continue by coach for a comfortable journey home, with memories of a wonderfully varied day.

Travel Arrangements

We travel to Erddig Hall, arriving mid-morning. Upon arrival, you will have the morning at leisure to explore this beautifully preserved country house and its stunning gardens. Discover the fascinating history of the Yorke family, wander through the interiors and grounds, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this historic estate. Afterwards, we continue to Llangollen, where you’ll have some free time for lunch at one of the town’s cafés or pubs, or to browse the independent shops and riverside streets at your own pace. In the afternoon, we board the Llangollen Railway for a scenic train journey through the stunning Dee Valley. Relax in the comfort of your carriage and take in the views as the line winds through an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on its way to Corwen. From Corwen, we continue by coach for the journey home, rounding off a day filled with heritage, scenery, and charming towns.
