Day One
We begin our journey north, travelling through ever changing scenery as we make our way towards Scotland's stunning west coast. Crossing the border, gentle countryside gradually transforms into a landscape of towering mountains, glistening lochs and sweeping coastal views.
Continuing through the spectacular scenery of Argyll, we arrive in the picturesque harbour town of Oban, affectionately known as the Gateway to the Isles. Set beside a beautiful natural bay and surrounded by rolling hills, Oban provides a wonderful introduction to the beauty of Scotland's western coastline.
Day Two
Today we enjoy a memorable excursion to the enchanting Isle of Mull, accompanied throughout by an experienced local guide. Following the ferry crossing from Oban to Craignure, we set off to discover an island celebrated for its dramatic landscapes, rugged coastline and unspoilt natural beauty.
As we travel across Mull, our guide brings the island to life with fascinating stories of its history, culture and traditions. Along the way we encounter peaceful lochs, heather clad hills, remote coastal scenery and charming villages, with opportunities to admire the island's abundant wildlife and spectacular views.
Day Three
This morning is free for you to enjoy Oban at your own pace. Perhaps take a leisurely stroll along the waterfront, visit the local shops or relax in one of the many cafés overlooking the busy harbour, watching ferries depart for the surrounding islands.
This afternoon we continue south through some of Argyll's most beautiful scenery as we make our way towards the Isle of Bute. Travelling through picturesque villages and alongside peaceful sea lochs, we pass through the delightful coastal area of Tighnabruaich before reaching Rhubodach, where we board the short ferry crossing to Colintraive.
On arrival on Bute, we continue to the elegant Victorian resort of Rothesay. Nestled around a beautiful bay and framed by rolling hills, Rothesay retains much of its traditional seaside charm and provides a delightful setting for our stay on the island.
Day Four
Today we discover the scenic beauty and rich heritage of the Isle of Bute, often described as one of Scotland's most attractive islands. Our circular tour showcases rugged coastline, sheltered bays, rolling countryside and wonderful views across the Firth of Clyde towards the mountains of Arran.
A highlight of the day is our included visit to the magnificent Mount Stuart House, one of Britain's most remarkable stately homes. Renowned for its striking Gothic architecture, lavish interiors and beautifully landscaped grounds, Mount Stuart is a masterpiece of Victorian design and craftsmanship.
Inside, richly decorated rooms, intricate marble work and stunning stained glass reveal the grandeur of this extraordinary residence, whilst the gardens and woodland walks provide a peaceful setting in which to explore. Following our visit, we return to Rothesay to enjoy another evening on this charming island.
Day Five
After breakfast, we bid farewell to the Isle of Bute and begin our journey home. Boarding the ferry from Rothesay to Wemyss Bay, we enjoy our final glimpses of Scotland's beautiful western coastline as we sail across the Firth of Clyde.
Travelling south with suitable comfort stops along the way, we arrive home later in the day with fond memories of spectacular scenery, welcoming island communities and unforgettable Highland landscapes.
