Day One
We depart North Wales and travel to Folkestone for our Eurotunnel crossing to France. On arrival in Calais we continue onto the city of Amiens where we stay for one night.
Day Two
This morning we leave Amiens and we continue our journey south along the French autoroutes to the city of Limoges, where we will have another overnight stay.
BDay Three
Today we continue through the picturesque French landscapes and the Pyrenees as we cross the border into Andorra, the sixth-smallest state in Europe. We continue through Andorra to the historic capital, Andorra la Vella, the highest-altitude capital in Europe, where we stay for the next three nights.
BDay Four
Today we are joined by a knowledgeable local guide as we discover some of Andorra's highlights. Our tour begins at the beautiful Meritxell Sanctuary, the spiritual heart of the principality, before continuing to the picturesque village of Pal, celebrated for its beautifully preserved Romanesque architecture and traditional mountain charm. We then journey through the stunning Pyrenean landscape to Coll de la Botella, where spectacular panoramic views await before returning to our hotel.
BDay Five
This morning we travel to the picturesque mountain village of Ordino, widely regarded as one of Andorra's most beautiful and traditional settlements. Surrounded by dramatic peaks, Ordino has preserved its historic charm with its cobbled streets, stone houses and Romanesque architecture. Perhaps enjoy a coffee in the village square, browse the small local shops or simply soak up the peaceful surroundings. We return to Andorra la Vella this afternoon where the remainder of the day is at leisure. Its name means "Andorra the Old," and the area has been inhabited since the late Neolithic period. The city is split into two distinct areas: the modern northern district, renowned for its bustling shopping streets and the charming historic quarter, which lies across the river to the south and west. Discover traditional stone buildings, inviting cafés, local restaurants and picturesque streets full of character. Take a stroll along Avinguda Meritxell, the city's main shopping boulevard, lined with stores, cafés and restaurants. Andorra's low taxes and duty-free status have made it a favourite destination for shoppers seeking everything from fashion and cosmetics to electronics and local products.
BDay Six
Today we bid farewell to Andorra and travel into the heart of the Pyrenees for a memorable journey aboard the Rack Railway to the Sanctuary of Núria. Climbing through spectacular mountain scenery to over 1,900 metres above sea level, the 12-kilometre railway is the only access to the beautiful Vall de Núria, a peaceful alpine valley surrounded by towering peaks. After time to enjoy this breathtaking setting, we rejoin the coach and continue through Spain, arriving in the popular seaside resort of Lloret de Mar late afternoon, where we check in to the L'Azure Hotel for the next four nights.
B, DDay Seven
Enjoy a day to relax, unwind and relish the splendid climate of Lloret De Mar. Stroll along the picturesque promenade, sip on a cool drink at a beachfront cafe, or perhaps indulge in some local cuisine at a charming seaside restaurant.
B, DDay Eight
This morning we travel to the medieval gem of Besalú, one of Catalonia's best-preserved historic towns. Famed for its magnificent 12th-century Romanesque bridge spanning the River Fluvià, Besalú is a delight to explore, with its cobbled streets, ancient stone buildings and beautifully preserved medieval atmosphere. We then continue to the historic city of Girona, renowned for its old quarter. Stroll through its maze of narrow streets, admire impressive medieval architecture and visit the magnificent Gothic cathedral. You may also wish to explore the atmospheric Jewish Quarter and the beautifully restored Arab Baths, offering a fascinating glimpse into the city's rich and varied past.
B, DDay Nine
This morning we visit Tossa de Mar, one of the prettiest and best-preserved resorts on the coast with a delightful Old Town to explore, set in a picturesque horseshoe sandy bay. We return to Lloret De mar in the early afternoon where the remainder of the afternoon will be at leisure.
Day Ten
We check out of our hotel this morning and bid farewell to Lloret de Mar as we begin our homeward journey. We travel through France to the city of Clermont-Ferrand, where we will spend the night.
