Pembrokeshire & West Coast Escape

Day One

We travel down to South West Wales making a brief stop in Aberystwyth where you will have time to have lunch and maybe take a walk along the promenade to take in the views over Cardigan Bay. We continue our journey south to Milford Haven and onto the Ty Milford Waterfront Hotel where we stay for the next three nights.

Day Two

This morning we travel to the small seaside resort of Saundersfoot with time have a look around and maybe enjoy an ice cream by the wide sandy beach before we continue to Tenby. Regarded as one of the prettiest resorts in Wales, Tenby is renowned for its lovely golden beaches and picturesque harbour. Attractions include the 13th-century town walls, the Five Arches Barbican, the 15th-century St. Mary's Church, plus the Tudor Merchant's House, now a museum and art gallery.

Day Three

This morning we take a drive to St Davids, the smallest city in Britain named after the patron saint of Wales and dominated by its 12th century cathedral. After a short stop here we make our way to the ancient market town of Cardigan, set on the River Teifi estuary. The main landmarks of the town are the Cardigan Castle with its Georgian Mansion and medieval walls, plus the 19th century Guildhall, built in Gothic architectural style.

Day Four

We check out of our hotel this morning and visit the seaside town of New Quay on the Cardigan Bay coast with its picturesque houses, pubs and restaurants that cling to the sides of the hills rising above the blue waters of the bay. Here we have an included boat trip to see the fabulous coastline and hopefully spot some dolphins and other wildlife. Following our cruise we spend some time in the charming little Georgian port town of Aberaeron with its elegant brightly painted town houses before we continue our homeward journey to North Wales.
