We then prepare for a fascinating walking tour through Cochem, renowned as one of the most stunning cities in the Moselle Valley. Every step will reveal architectural marvels and a charming ambiance that will leave you spellbound.
To top it all off, brace yourself for a breathtaking cable car ride across the Rhine, ascending to the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress. Standing proudly at a height of 118 meters above the majestic river, this mighty fortress offers awe-inspiring views that simply cannot be missed.

Day One
Early departure for our journey south to Dover for a ferry crossing to Calais. On arrival in Calais we continue our journey through France and into Belgium and onto our overnight hotel in Lille.
Day Two
After breakfast we depart Lille and continue our journey through Belgium and onto Cologne in Germany, where we board A-ROSA SILVA, our cruise for the next seven nights. This evening we enjoy a relaxing dinner onboard as we sail overnight towards the twin towns of Treis-Karden.
B, DDay Three
This morning we arrive in Treis-Karden, set within a beautiful location directly on the Moselle. Enjoy some free time to explore this small town which is located on both sides of the river before we begin our overnight sailing towards Bernkastel-Kues.
B, L, DDay Four
We arrive in Bernkastel-Kues this morning where we get to experience the unforgettable atmosphere of this picturesque old town, full of history and culture. There will be some free time to enjoy award-winning wines from well-known sites, whether in one of the cosy wine bars or in a rustic wine tavern before we rejoin our ship and begin our journey overnight sailing.
B, L, DDay Five
Today we arrive in the Roman city of Trier and enjoy a full day exploring this city which boasts many churches, castles and palaces, plus a wealth of historic monuments - with UNESCO World Heritage status. From our ship we enjoy a drive along the Moselle to the oldest bridge in Germany, the Roman Bridge, then pass the Palace of Electorate before reaching the city's main landmark, the Porta Nigra, the emblem of Trier and the best-preserved Roman city gate north of the Alps. As another lovely day draws to a close we set sail overnight towards Traben-Trabach.
B, L, DDay Six
This morning why not make use of the fantastic facilities or relax and treat yourself to a spa treatment onboard our ship before we arrive in the wine town of Traben-Trabach this afternoon. We overnight in Traben-Trabach meaning there is plenty of time discover the beautiful wine landscape and perhaps enjoy some wine tasting in one of the many wineries and vineyards.
B, L, DDay Seven
We depart Traben-Trabach this morning and set sail towards Cochem. On arrival we board our minibus which will take us 100 metres up to the imperial castle of Reichsburg, undoubtedly the most famous landmark in Cochem. Following our visit to the beautiful castle the remainder of the day will be at leisure as we overnight in this popular town on the banks of the Moselle.
B, L, DDay Eight
We cast off from Cochem this morning and set sail towards Koblenz, one of Germany's oldest cities dating back over 2000 years ago. Here we will enjoy a breathtaking cable car ride across the Rhine and up to the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress, the second largest preserved fortress in Europe. Following our visit we make our way back through the old town making sure to admire all the stately homes, grand townhouses, narrow lanes and romantic corners along the way before we rejoin our cruise and watch as our AROSA ship sails close to the famous Deutsches Eck headland. We enjoy our last night on-board our cruise as we set sail towards Cologne.
B, L, DDay Nine
This morning we bid farewell to our captain and crew as we disembark in Cologne and begin our return journey by coach through Germany and into Belgium and onto our overnight hotel in Brugge.
BDay Ten
We check out this morning and continue to Calais for our return ferry crossing to Dover and on home to North Wales.
