Prepare to be captivated by the maritime splendour of the Royal Yacht Britannia, once the floating residence of Her Majesty The Queen and has dutifully served the Royal Family for over 44 years. We then discover the opulence of the Palace of Holyroodhouse, where history comes alive within its historic walls. As the official Royal residence in Scotland, His Majesty the King conducts important official business here, as well as hosting lavish engagements and garden parties.
We take a visit to Glamis Castle, where this fairytale fortress awaits to regale you with tales of Scottish royalty that was once the childhood home of the Queen Mother, birthplace of Princess Margaret and the legendary setting for Shakespeare's Macbeth. Following this we visit the town of St Andrews, a lovely coastal resort that is home to one of the world's most famous golf courses and where Prince William and Kate Middleton met whilst studying at the university.
The Hilton Dunblane Hydro is a historic and luxurious hotel set amidst picturesque surroundings on the outskirts of Dunblane. Day One
We travel north through the Scottish Borders and on to Dunblane where we check in to the Dunblane Hydro Hotel for the next three nights.
DDay Two
Today we explore the illustrious Royal Yacht Britannia, a vessel steeped in history and luxury that dutifully served the Royal Family for over 44 years. Having navigated more than a million nautical miles, this floating icon has played host to glittering state visits, official receptions, Royal honeymoons, and cherished family holidays. Now berthed in Leith, just outside of Edinburgh, our included admission will allow you to uncover the secrets held within the five main decks, including the opulence of the Royal Apartments, a glimpse into the daily life within the Crew Quarters and marvel at the inner workings of the Engine Room. This afternoon we visit the King's official residence in Scotland, the Palace of Holyroodhouse. Standing at the end of Edinburgh's historic Royal Mile, this fine palace is the home of Scottish royal history. Explore the historic state apartments, the ruins of the 12th century Holyrood Abbey and stroll around the remarkable royal gardens
B, DDay Three
This morning we journey through 1000 years of history at Glamis, the finest castle in Scotland. Glamis Castle was the childhood home of the Queen Mother, birthplace of Princess Margaret and the setting for Shakespeare's Macbeth. During our visit you will experience a sense of splendour as we explore the opulent rooms and the extensive gardens and pathways. Following our visit to Glamis Castle we travel to the town of St Andrews, where Prince William and Kate Middleton met whist studying at the university. Described as one of Europe's finest towns St Andrews has its place in history, a lovely coastal resort that is home to the world's most famous golf course.
B, DDay Four
We check out this morning and commence our journey home to North Wales.
