Day One
We travel north to the picturesque Lake District, beginning with a visit to the charming market town of Kendal. Wander its quaint cobbled streets, browse antique shops and explore the historic castle ruins. After some free time to discover the town and enjoy lunch at your leisure, we continue our journey with a scenic drive through the dramatic Kirkstone Pass. Soaring to 1,489 feet, it's the highest pass open to traffic in the Lake District. By late afternoon, we arrive at the stunning Inn on the Lake Hotel in Glenridding. Settle in, relax and soak up the breathtaking lakeside views before a delightful dinner this evening.
DDay Two
This morning, we set off on a scenic drive along the shores of Ullswater, England's second-largest lake, where tranquil waters and dramatic fells create a postcard-perfect landscape as we continue our journey towards the charming Victorian town of Keswick, nestled amidst spectacular scenery on the shores of Derwent Water. Enjoy some free time to explore its market square, unique shops and inviting cafés. We then continue south, passing the serene Lake Thirlmere and making our way through the picturesque village of Grasmere, associated with the poet William Wordsworth, before arriving in Ambleside. This lively town is famed for its literary history and the much-photographed Bridge House, a tiny 17th-century stone building perched over Stock Ghyll. From here we continue to the quaint town of Windermere in the heart of the Lake District. Take some time to browse its boutique shops and relax in a traditional tearoom.
B, DDay Three
After breakfast, we check out of our hotel and make our way to the charming resort town of Bowness-on-Windermere, known for its quaint cafés, inviting art galleries and unique craft shops. Enjoy some free time to explore this delightful lakeside town at your own pace. Later, we board a scenic lake cruiser for a relaxing journey from Bowness to Lakeside, sailing to the southern tip of Lake Windermere. As we glide across England's largest lake, take in the stunning views of wooded islands and the rolling Lakeland fells. Upon arrival in Lakeside, we rejoin our coach for the return journey to North Wales.
