Embark on a spectacular river cruise that takes you through some of Europes most enchanting cities and scenic waterways. Our journey begins as we travel from North Wales to Brugge, where we spend a night soaking up the charm of this fairy-tale city with its winding canals, cobbled streets, and historic market square.
The next day, we continue to Amsterdam, where we board our comfortable river cruise ship and set sail on a journey through the Netherlands and Belgium. Glide along picturesque waterways as we visit Arnhem, known for its fascinating wartime history, and Middelburg, a hidden gem with striking medieval architecture. In Ghent, discover the beauty of this historic city, where grand guildhalls line the canals, before exploring the vibrant streets of Antwerp, famous for its stunning cathedral and world-class chocolate. A stop in Rotterdam showcases the citys bold modern skyline, contrasting beautifully with the traditional charm of our previous destinations.
Returning to Amsterdam, we disembark with wonderful memories of our journey through these captivating European cities. From scenic cruising to rich history and culture, this tour offers the perfect blend of relaxation and discovery.
The newest addition to the Amadeus fleet, Amadeus Riva offers an elegant and modern way to explore Europes rivers in comfort and style. This sleek vessel boasts state-of-the-art amenities, including a spacious sun deck with loungers, a panoramic bar offering breathtaking views, and a wellness area featuring a gym, massage room, and hair salon. All cabins are designed for comfort, featuring a flat-screen TV, safe, air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, and a modern en-suite bathroom with shower. Day One
We depart from North Wales in the morning, crossing the Eurotunnel to Europe. We arrive in Brugge by the evening and check in to the Radisson Blu Brugge. After settling in, you’ll have the evening free to enjoy Brugge’s charm. Stroll around its cobbled streets, admire the medieval buildings, or relax at a local café before turning in for the night.
Day Two
After breakfast, we travel to Amsterdam, arriving in the early afternoon where we will board the boat and be greeted with a welcome cocktail. Relax and unwind as the boat sets sail, followed by a delightful dinner onboard. In the evening, enjoy an onboard performance by the Shanty Choir, setting the mood for the trip ahead. After the evening’s activities, we will be heading towards Arnhem for our next excursion.
B, DDay Three
We arrive in Arnhem this morning, where we will step off the boat and embark on a powerful excursion into the history of World War II. Visit key sites related to the Battle of Arnhem, including the John Frost Bridge and the Airborne Museum. After a day of reflection and exploration, we return to the boat in the late afternoon and set sail for Middelburg, where we spend the evening exploring this charming town.
B, L, DDay Four
Today, we arrive in Middelburg in the late morning. This picturesque town is full of history, and our walking tour will uncover the many stories of the area, from its medieval roots to its role during the Dutch Golden Age. Take in the beautiful architecture, including the stunning town hall and the Abbey Tower. After some free time to enjoy the town’s cafes, we will sail again in the early evening, heading towards Ghent for our next adventure.
B, L, DDay Fivr
Arriving in Ghent this afternoon, we visit the Gravensteen Medieval Fortress, a stunning castle dating back to the 12th century. Here, we will learn about the history of the region and explore the fortress’s impressive halls and battlements. After your visit, enjoy some time at leisure in Ghent’s vibrant city center. From local markets to charming streets, you will find plenty to discover before returning to the boat in the early evening. We will then set sail towards Antwerp for our next exciting stop.
B, L, DDay Six
This morning, we arrive in Antwerp, and after breakfast, we will visit the awe-inspiring Cathedral of Our Lady. Home to masterpieces by the painter Peter Paul Rubens, the cathedral is a must-see. Afterward, take a leisurely stroll through the city’s historic center, admiring its grand architecture and the famous Diamond District. We depart for our next port in the early evening, making our way towards Rotterdam.
B, L, DDay Seven
We arrive in Rotterdam in the morning, and today’s highlight is the Keukenhof Flower Gardens. Known as the "Garden of Europe," Keukenhof is one of the largest flower gardens in the world, boasting millions of tulips in every color imaginable. Take your time exploring the gardens, snapping photos of the vibrant blooms. After our visit, we will return to the boat in the early afternoon, where we will set sail for Amsterdam, the next stop on our journey.
B, L, DDay Eight
We arrive in Amsterdam early today and begin with an iconic canal cruise. Glide through the city’s canals and take in the charming views of 17th-century houses and picturesque bridges. Afterward, there will be some free time to explore Amsterdam at your own pace, whether visiting a museum, wandering through Jordaan’s trendy shops, or enjoying the many cafes. We depart in the afternoon for our final leg of the journey back towards Amsterdam
B, L, DDay Nine
After breakfast, we disembark and join our coach as we head back to Brugge. Once we arrive, there will be free time to revisit the sights you may have missed on Day 1 or simply relax in the quaint town. Take a boat ride along the canals, or enjoy a leisurely walk through the cobbled streets of this UNESCO World Heritage city before our overnight stay at the Radisson Blu Brugge.
BDay Ten
After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for the journey home, making our way back to North Wales via the Eurotunnel, with plenty of time to reflect on the wonderful experiences shared over the past days.
