Day One
Your adventure begins with comfortable travel as you make your way south to Dover and cross the Channel to Dunkirk. From there, you continue to the enchanting city of Brugge, often described as one of Europe’s most beautiful and romantic towns.
This evening, settle into your hotel and enjoy time at leisure to explore Brugge’s winding canals, charming cobblestone streets and historic market square. Perhaps sip a coffee in a quaint café, browse local boutiques or simply take in the tranquillity of this fairy-tale city before a restful night’s sleep.
Day Two
After breakfast, we make our way to Amsterdam, the capital city of the Netherlands. Upon arrival, you will board the elegant Amadeus Riva river cruise ship, where a welcome cocktail awaits.
As the ship sets sail, watch the city’s iconic canals and skyline drift into the distance.
Tonight, enjoy your first dinner on board before the Shanty Choir’s performance fills the lounge with spirited song, setting the tone for the memorable days ahead.
Day Three
Arriving in Arnhem this morning, step ashore for a poignant and enlightening exploration of World War II history. Walk past the John Frost Bridge and immerse yourself in the powerful exhibits of the Airborne Museum, gaining fresh insight into the events that shaped this region.
In the late afternoon, return to your ship and settle in as it continues its scenic cruise towards Middelburg. The gentle flow of the river and the promise of tomorrow’s discoveries make for a relaxing and thoughtful evening.
Day Four
This morning, arrive in charming Middelburg, a place rich with medieval heritage and maritime history. A guided walking tour reveals the beauty of its architecture, from the stately town hall to the striking Abbey Tower.
Enjoy some free time to wander inviting streets, relax in a café or soak up the town’s graceful atmosphere before returning to your ship. In the early evening, the ship sets sail again, carrying you toward your next destination, Ghent.
Day Five
Today’s arrival in Ghent reveals a beautifully preserved medieval city where history and culture shine at every turn. Your visit includes the Gravensteen Medieval Fortress, where you’ll explore battlements and grand halls steeped in centuries of story.
Afterward, enjoy time at your leisure to discover hidden gems in Ghent’s lively centre, from artisan markets and chic boutiques to picturesque canal walks and charming cafés before rejoining your ship in the early evening before then seting sail towards Antwerp for our next exciting stop.
Day Six
This morning in Antwerp, visit the awe-inspiring Cathedral of Our Lady, home to masterpieces by renowned painter Peter Paul Rubens. Feel the weight of artistic heritage and architectural splendour as you wander through this iconic space.
Afterward, enjoy a leisurely stroll through the city’s elegant squares and historic streets. Marvel at the Diamond District or take a moment to savour a local delicacy before your ship departs for Rotterdam in the early evening.
Day Seven
This morning you arrive in Rotterdam and make your way to one of the most breathtaking sights in Europe, the Keukenhof Flower Gardens. Known as the Garden of Europe, this magnificent park is ablaze with millions of tulips and flowering bulbs, creating vibrant displays that are nothing short of spectacular. Spend time exploring at your pace, capturing photos that truly reflect the glory of springtime in bloom. Later, return to your ship and continue onwards to Amsterdam as the day winds to a gentle close.
B, L, DDay Eight
We arrive in Amsterdam early today and begin with an iconic canal cruise. Glide through the city’s canals and take in the charming views of 17th-century houses and picturesque bridges. Afterward, there will be some free time to explore Amsterdam at your own pace, whether visiting a museum, wandering through Jordaan’s trendy shops, or enjoying the many cafes.
B, L, DDay Nine
After breakfast, we disembark our cruise and join our coach as we head back to Brugge. Once we arrive, there will be free time to revisit the sights you may have missed on Day 1 or simply relax in the quaint town. Take a boat ride along the canals, or enjoy a leisurely walk through the cobbled streets of this UNESCO World Heritage city before our overnight stay at the Radisson Blu Brugge.
BDay Ten
This morning, after breakfast, we check out and make our way back to Dunkirk for our ferry crossing to Dover. From there, we continue by coach to North Wales, bringing to a close a journey that has combined scenic waterways, cultural wonders and unforgettable springtime beauty.
