Day One
We travel across the Pennines into Yorkshire and on to the medieval city of York where we check in to the Hilton Doubletree hotel during the early afternoon. The remainder of the day will then be at leisure in York where you can begin discovering the city centre.
Day Two
Today we travel to Pickering where we'll step aboard the famous North Yorkshire Moors steam train for a nostalgic 24-mile journey through the Yorkshire countryside to Whitby, one of the most popular seaside resorts in the UK. Upon arrival, you'll have some time at leisure to discover the charm of this historic town explore its quirky cobbled streets lined with shops, pubs and famed eateries, or climb the 199 steps to the Gothic ruins of Whitby Abbey, overlooking the harbour. This afternoon we reboard the North Yorkshire Moors railway for a return journey to Pickering.
BDay Three
Enjoy a full day at leisure in York to discover its myriad of attractions. You might opt for a sightseeing adventure aboard an open-top bus or a scenic boat excursion along the River Ouse. Don't miss the opportunity to visit the iconic York Minster, take a leisurely stroll along the renowned city walls or meander through the enchanting Shambles, an impeccably preserved medieval street. Why not visit the impressive Castle Museum or alternatively experience the remarkable Railway Museum, home to a diverse collection of over 100 locomotives.
BDay Four
Enjoy a further morning at leisure in York before we depart in the early afternoon and commence our homeward journey to North Wales.
