Join us on this overnight break as we travel through the spectacular landscapes of the Peak District as we journey to the picturesque market town of Bakewell. We also visit the exquisite Chatsworth House, also known as the 'Palace of the Peaks', where you will be able to explore the unique treasures of one of Britain's finest stately homes and wander the 105 acres of gardens, set against a backdrop of Peak District countryside.
Situated on the outskirts of Sheffield, the modern Hilton Doubletree Sheffield Park hotel is an ideal base for exploring the surrounding areas. All the modern bedrooms feature air conditioning, television, radio, telephone, Wi-Fi, hairdryer, iron/ironing board, safe and tea/coffee making facilities. Day One
We travel over the scenic Cat & Fiddle pass takin in some fantastic views of the Peak District as we journey to Bakewell, a beautiful market town set on the banks of the River Wye in the heart of the Peak District National Park. Probably best known for its association with its Bakewell pudding, the town also boasts many historic buildings, attractive courtyards, independent shops and cafés. We continue to our hotel on the outskirts of Sheffield late afternoon.
DDay Two
This morning we travel to Chatsworth House, home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire and one of the country's grandest stately homes. Chatsworth House has over 30 rooms to explore, from the magnificent Painted Hall, to the family-used chapel, regal state rooms and beautiful Sculpture Gallery. Chatsworth also houses the Devonshire Collection, one of Europe's most significant art collections. After visiting the house, take time to explore the impressive gardens including the historic Cascade, the Victorian rock garden and the maze.
