Day One
Our journey begins as we travel to Folkestone for a Eurotunnel crossing to Calais. Once in France, we continue south through picturesque landscapes before arriving in Reims, the heart of the Champagne region. Here, we check into our overnight hotel, with time to relax before enjoying an evening at leisure.
Day Two
Departing Reims, we make our way towards Mulhouse, passing through the scenic French countryside. We stop for lunch in the charming town of Toul, known for its beautiful Saint-Étienne Cathedral and historic city walls. After enjoying a leisurely break, we continue our journey to Mulhouse, where we check into our overnight hotel.
DDay Three
Today, we travel through Switzerland, soaking in breathtaking Alpine views as we pass through Bellinzona, famous for its medieval castles, and Lugano, a lakeside gem offering a stunning Swiss-Italian ambiance. We then continue into Italy, reaching the beautiful seaside resort of Lido di Jesolo, where we check in for a three-night stay.
B, DDay Four
Enjoy a full day at leisure in Lido di Jesolo, one of Italy's most popular coastal destinations. Relax on its golden sandy beaches, stroll along the vibrant promenade, or explore the nearby Venetian Lagoon. The town boasts plenty of cafés, boutiques, and traditional Italian restaurants, offering the perfect place to unwind.
B, DDay Five
We embark on a scenic boat trip across the Venetian Lagoon to Venice, one of the world's most iconic cities. Enjoy a guided tour through the labyrinth of canals and historic streets, taking in landmarks such as St. Mark's Square, the Doge's Palace, and the Grand Canal. There will be time to explore at your own pace-perhaps enjoy a gondola ride or sip coffee at a historic café-before we return to Lido di Jesolo in the evening.
B, DDay Six
We bid farewell to Italy and travel east towards Slovenia. A highlight of the journey is a visit to Postojna Caves, one of Europe's most impressive cave systems, where we take a guided tour through its awe-inspiring underground chambers. After our visit, we continue into Croatia, arriving in the elegant coastal town of Opatija, where we settle in for a four-night stay.
BDay Seven
A day to relax and enjoy Opatija, a resort town known for its grand 19th-century architecture and stunning seaside promenade, the Lungomare. Stroll along the waterfront, visit charming cafés, or take in the lush parks and historic villas. This is the perfect place to unwind by the Adriatic Sea.
BDay Eight
We set out on a fascinating excursion to Istria, starting with Pore?, home to the UNESCO-listed Euphrasian Basilica. We then continue to Rovinj, a breathtaking coastal town with colorful Venetian-style buildings and a charming old town. The day ends with a visit to the scenic Lim Fjord, a stunning natural inlet known for its serene beauty and oyster farms, before returning to Opatija.
BDay Nine
Our exploration of Istria continues with a visit to Pula, famous for its remarkably preserved Roman amphitheater. Here, we delve into its rich Roman heritage before heading to Pazin, a historic inland town known for its dramatic medieval castle and the Pazin Cave, which inspired Jules Verne. After a full day of discovery, we return to Opatija.
BDay Ten
Leaving Croatia, we journey towards Austria, making a picturesque stop at Lake Bled, one of Slovenia's most famous attractions. Take in the fairy-tale scenery of Bled Castle and its iconic island church before we continue into Germany, arriving in the historic city of Ulm for our overnight stay.
BDay Eleven
We travel through Germany and back into France, heading towards Reims. In the afternoon, we visit Vranken Pommery, one of the region's most prestigious Champagne houses, for a guided tour and tasting. After experiencing the finest of French sparkling wine, we settle into our overnight hotel in Reims.
BDay Twelve
Our final day sees us journey back to Calais, where we board the Eurotunnel to Folkestone. From there, we continue home, bringing our incredible Italian and Croatian coastal adventure to a close.
