Day One
We travel south via the motorway network to Dorset and check in to our hotel, the Hilton Bournemouth.
Day Two
We travel to nearby Poole where we board a City Cruises boat for a Sandbanks Harbour cruise. Relax and enjoy the views as we sail along the Golden Mile, passing the multimillion pound houses that line the golden beaches of the Sandbanks Peninsula. During the cruise the captain will provide live commentary and information about Poole Harbour, Europe's largest natural harbour and the historic Brownsea Island. This afternoon we continue to the nearby Haven Hotel, a luxury seaside property perched at the tip of the Exclusive Sandbanks peninsula where we have included a delicious afternoon tea with a glass of Prosecco and some stunning views.
BDay Three
We visit the Georgian market town of Lymington this morning. Famous for its sailing history, the town's narrow streets are lined with pretty period cottages and houses, as well several independent shops. At the bottom of the High Street, a cobbled road leads down to the old town quay, from here you can take a stroll along the waters edge and soak up the atmosphere of this renowned sailing resort. After some time to look around we trace our steps and travel to Highcliffe Castle, a beautiful and historical building commissioned by Lord Stuart de Rothesay in the 1830's. Enjoy a tour with a knowledgeable guide detailing the history of the building including access to some unrestored areas of the Castle not normally open to the public. We finish the day with some free time to explore Christchurch, a bustling and attractive town with olde world charm.
BDay Four
This morning we travel to Wareham, a pretty riverside town where the rivers Frome and Piddle meet and one of the few remaining Saxon walled towns in England. Explore some of the town's 2000 year history, browse the interesting and unique shops, go for a walk by the river or relax by the quay. and surround yourself with rolling hills and beautiful views. This afternoon we continue to Norden for a journey on the Swanage Railway, passing Corfe Castle onto the Isle of Purbeck and the popular seaside town of Swanage where we spend the remainder of the afternoon.
BDay Five
This morning after breakfast, we check out of our hotel and begin our return journey home.
