Situated in Irelands south west corner, Killarney is one of the Emerald Isles principal tourist destinations and is often referred to as the Jewel of Ireland. Killarney is surrounded by the majestic scenery of the National Park, with beautiful lakes and Irelands highest mountain peaks encompassing this popular tourist destination. Killarney is also the perfect base from which to explore the stunning scenery of Irelands South West corner, with the stunning Ring of Kerry and the Beara Peninsula nearby, just waiting to be explored.
The Gleneagle hotel is one of the largest hotels in Killarney, situated in landscaped gardens overlooking Killarney National Park. All bedrooms are equipped with television, radio, Wi-Fi, telephone, iron / ironing board, hairdryer and tea / coffee making facilities. Day One
We travel to Holyhead for our Irish Sea crossing to Dublin Port, then continue via Portlaoise and Limerick to Killarney where we check in to the Gleneagle Hotel.
DDay Two
Enjoy a day at leisure to relax and explore Killarney, a small town bursting with atmosphere and personality. Why not take a cruise on Lough Leane, Killarney's largest and most picturesque lake, perhaps take a local 'jaunting car' ride or visit Ross Castle and Muckross House, a magnificent Victorian mansion where Queen Victoria stayed in 1861.
Day Three
Today we discover the spectacular Ring of Kerry, considered one of the finest scenic drives in the world with outstanding views around every turn. We follow the coast road around the Iveragh Peninsula traveling through small villages and pastures green whilst admiring the constantly changing vistas of beautiful seascapes, mountains, beaches and cliffs. Enjoy a full day absorbing the breathtakingly beautiful scenery that makes up this unmissable area of Ireland.
B, DDay Four
This morning we travel to Glengarriff where we take a short boat trip to the must-see Garinish Island. This small and beautiful garden island is tucked away in a sheltered natural harbour within Bantry Bay and is known to horticulturists and lovers of trees and shrubs all around the world as an island garden of rare beauty. This afternoon the stunning scenery continues as we travel over the Healy pass and take in the natural beauty of the Beara Peninsula.
B, DDay Five
We travel back to the Dublin ferry port for our return sailing to Holyhead, then continue on home to North Wales.
