We also visit the magnificent Kensington Palace, a royal residence rich in history and heritage. Day One
We journey south to the charming historic town of Stratford-upon-Avon, renowned as the birthplace of William Shakespeare. With its picturesque timber-framed buildings, rich heritage and vibrant atmosphere, this delightful market town offers plenty to explore. Enjoy time at leisure to discover its many attractions, perhaps take an open-top sightseeing tour, a relaxing cruise along the River Avon or visit some of Shakespeare's most famous homes and landmarks, among the most celebrated historic buildings in Britain. We depart Stratford-upon-Avon later this afternoon and continue south to the outskirts of Reading, where we will spend the next two nights.
DDay Two
Today we travel into central London, beginning with a visit to The King’s Gallery in Buckingham Palace for the captivating exhibition Queen Elizabeth II: Life in Style. This remarkable display brings together over 300 items celebrating the enduring elegance of Britain’s longest-reigning monarch. Explore how her style evolved across ten decades of life, from infancy to adulthood, from princess to queen, and from private off-duty moments to defining public appearances on the global stage during some of the most significant events in modern British history. Following our visit, we make the short journey to Kensington Palace, the birthplace of Queen Victoria and a royal residence for over 300 years. Here we walk in the footsteps of royalty through the magnificent King’s State Apartments and Queen’s State Apartments, before enjoying the beautifully maintained gardens that surround this iconic palace.
B, DDay Three
This morning, we check out of our hotel and travel through the Cotswolds to Gloucester Quays. Set in a stunning waterside location, Gloucester Quays is the city’s thriving leisure quarter and features an outlet shopping centre, a multi-screen cinema and the Waterways Museum, as well as a wide variety of bars and restaurants. There will be time to explore the shops and enjoy a meal at one of the many waterfront restaurants before we continue our journey back to North Wales.
