Set in the heart of mid Wales, the Elan Valley is a place of quiet drama and striking beauty. Vast reservoirs, rolling moorland and stone-built dams come together to create one of the most impressive landscapes in the country. On our ranger-led tour, you will gain a deeper insight into the history and engineering of the estate, as well as the wildlife and natural environment that make this area so special. There is time afterwards to explore at your own pace, enjoy the views and stop for lunch before continuing on to our hotel for a relaxing evening.
The journey continues with one of Wales most scenic rail experiences, a ride on the Vale of Rheidol Railway. This historic narrow-gauge line winds its way through wooded valleys and along tumbling rivers to the dramatic setting of Devils Bridge, where you can explore the famous waterfalls and rugged scenery. A tour that blends gentle exploration, memorable journeys and some of Wales most iconic landscapes.
