Day One
We travel south via the motorway system to Portsmouth where we board a ferry and sail across the Solent to the Isle of Wight. (Crossing time is approximately 45 mins). On arrival we continue on to the Trouville Hotel in Sandown where we stay for the next four nights.
Day Two
A day at leisure to relax and explore the resort.
B, DDay Three
A full day excursion travelling along the island’s south coast via Ventnor, Whitwell and Brighstone to the Isle of Wight Pearl, home to an unmissable collection of pearl jewellery and offering spectacular cliff-top views over the English Channel. After a brief stop here we continue onto the iconic multi-coloured sand cliffs, otherwise known as Needles, at Alum Bay. Here you can take the Needles chairlift which operates from the cliff-top all the way down to the beach below where you can see the Needles Rocks and Trinity Lighthouse, the Island’s most famous landmark. We then travel to the bustling town of Yarmouth, with its natural harbour and home to some of the oldest architecture as well as the best crab sandwiches on the island.
B, DDay Four
Today we head along the east coast road to Bembridge, home of the Island’s last surviving windmill, before we continue on to Ryde, the island’s largest town with an elegant esplanade, attractive Georgian and Victorian buildings, plus its half mile long pier. We then continue onto Godshill via Newport. Godshill is the quintessential English village with its delightful thatched cottages, medieval church and model village.
B, DDay Five
A further day at leisure in Sandown or you may wish to join us on an optional excursion to Osborne House, the holiday home of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. Inside the house you can see the state rooms where they entertained their important guests. Osborne House then leads onto Osborne Beach which was the Queen's private beach, maybe you would like to enjoy taking a stroll here before making your way back through the beautiful gardens surrounding the house which provide a place to relax and enjoy the seasonal colour all year round.
B, DDay Six
After breakfast this morning we check-out and travel back to catch our return ferry crossing to Portsmouth. From here we join the motorway systems and continue on home to North Wales.
